Eco

A new glass countertop company has surface. The company has trademarked their countertop named ECO(TM) by Cosentino. The countertop is composed of 75% post-industrial and post-consumer recycled raw material. Nw this is a very innovative way of recycling!

These materials include: mirrors salvaged from houses, buildings and factories; glass from windows and bottles; granulated glass from consumer recycling practices; porcelain from china, tiles, sinks, toilets and decorative elements; and industrial furnace residuals from factories in the form of crystallized ashes. This is a pretty neat and a very enviromentally friendly process i would have to say. The countertop materials are then  bonded together with a proprietary eco-friendly corn oil based resin to create a hard durable surface. The production of ECO(TM) by Cosentino will utilize the equivalent of 60,000,000 glass bottles every year. The Company has divided their collection of countertops into two styles and names, the Green Collection that uses 75% post-consumer materials, and the Revival Collection that contains 75% post-industrial (or pre-consumer) materials. These countertops would be a great addition to any high end home that wants the latest cutting edge technology and fashionable home trends.

It is clear that new home owners and home interior designers are all going green.  Points Toward LEED certification are also important to builders and ECO(TM) by Cosentino states that they are GREENGUARD certified for low chemical emissions and architects and building teams can gain points toward LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for a building project that utilizes ECO(TM) by Cosentino surfacing.
